Tindercapital plans to continue training for rural entrepreneurs

Tindercapital Bangladesh Ltd looks to continue its training programme in Bangladesh to help develop capacity of rural-based entrepreneurs, its managing director said.

After successful conclusion of its first Training Camp, under a project "OPEN Accelerator (OPEN)" its top official said that his company will consider continuation of the training camp even in a big way.

 "We've a plan to arrange such more training camps next year," Jerry Nicholson (CA), Managing Director of Tindercapital Bangladesh Ltd that initiated the project OPEN, told the FE.

A total of 19 rural entrepreneurs participated in the OPEN's first four-day training camp held at the Hope Training Centre in Savar recently. They were trained on business strategies, among other topics.

Certificates were handed over all entrepreneurs at the award giving ceremony in the city on Saturday.

Of 19 entrepreneurs, five were selected at the programme for their respective businesses' growth.

Each of these five entrepreneurs will be given interest-free loan worth Tk 0.2 million for three-five years to help expand their business.

Mentors will also be engaged with each of them for the next 10 months to guide and prepare them on how to properly run the business, Mr Jerry said.

OPEN will also keep rest of the 14 entrepreneurs in its touch so that they get necessary help or suggestion from it, officials said.

The 19 rural entrepreneurs were selected out of over 150 applicants, who were invited to the training from different corners of the country.

Abdullah Al Mahmud, one of the five selected entrepreneurs and a participant from Noakhali-based Eurekha Impex Ltd, told the FE, "It is  a great opportunity to attend the OPEN's Training Camp. Different renowned resource persons taught us about all relevant things about business."

Ajoy Majumder, another entrepreneur from Modhukhali under Faridpur, said that the training camp helped the participants gain new knowledge.

Apart from business strategies, OPEN also taught us about the businessmen's responsibility to the society, he said.

Founder sponsor of OPEN is a Dutch impact investing company called Incluvest and Kilpartick Executive Search are the Programme Sponsor for the Training Camp.
